OPA Peer Group

A Peer Group is composed of consulting astrologers who meet in order to discuss their practice and support one another. These groups serve both the emotional and professional needs of the practicing astrologer; they create a practical foundation for an astrological community.

​

Through the Peer Group Work, we learn about each other's practices, share our vulnerabilities and words of wisdom, analyze each other's charts, and create a vision to enhance our practice. Three days of interactive work where professionals step down off the pedestal and meet each other.

​

All astrologers seeing clients need to be able to discus what goes on in their consulting room. Just talking about work with clients is therapeutic, but it is even more helpful when it happens with another practicing astrologer. A group of practicing astrologers is even better. Historically, this hasn’t happened before.

Arlan Wise

​

Arlan has worked as a professional consulting astrologer since 1979. She has a B.A. from Brown University where she majored in Latin. She is a certified professional astrologer credited by the Organization for Professional Astrology (OPA) and the International Society for Astrological Research (ISAR). She also belongs to the American Federation of Astrologers (AFA), the National Council for Geocosmic Research (NCGR), the American Federation of Astrological Networking (AFAN), and the Astrological Association of Great Britain. Arlan served as president of OPA from 2004-2006. She wrote the astrology column for the Martha’s Vineyard Times for 17 years and has been an editor of OPA's Career Astrologer magazine. She has been leading Peer Group sessions since 2001 and is kind, gentle, fun, and has a tremendous wealth of astrological knowledge.
