OPA Peer Group Process

The Peer Group is OPA’s signature training that supports professional astrologers enhance their astrological and consulting skills, plus improve business branding and create personalized strategies for success.
This group training is for you if you have been doing paid consultations/readings for six months or more. Any style of astrology is welcome.
The training was normally offered as a three day event at a retreat. To accommodate the virtual format, each day is broken into two four-hour Zoom calls, for a total of six days of four hours per day (including breaks). Four participants plus a group facilitator create an intimate environment for sharing as colleagues. You must attend all sessions live on video as the work is experiential and interactive.
Day 1: Challenging Client Issues: We discuss many of the ethical and interpersonal situations we face as consulting astrologers. Each participant in turn presents the (anonymous) chart of a client with whom they had a difficult interaction. The reason for the difficulty can vary, from not having found a proper way to help the client with their questions, to experiencing strong resistance from the client to absorb the insights offered in the session. The other participants in the group share their own perspectives on the situation, and solutions are offered.
Day 2: Analyzing Each Other’s Charts: We learn about different analysis styles by reading the chart of another member of the group. This is a great opportunity to learn about different styles of chart analysis and to see consulting skills in action. It is also an opportunity for an astrologer to receive a reading and advice, and also to experience what it feels to be in the client’s chair again.
Day 3: Branding & Business Development: Here we take practical steps to manifest our professional vision by creating and reviewing a Business Plan for the year. This plan generates success as we set realistic goals and consider how to best accomplish them. We review websites and social media accounts with constructive feedback from all. Each astrologer provides guidance where they are most experienced, and helps others use resources and tools they were not necessarily aware of. This is also an opportunity for networking and sharing mutual projects.
