Sage Acres is a beautiful retreat property in the countryside of rural Maine with mesmerizing views of Mt. Washington and the White Mountains of New Hampshire, as well as astonishing panoramic night skies for star-gazing the Zodiac and Milky Way’s astronomical wonders. Book your stay in the summer months to enjoy the lush green meadows, forest trails, bountiful gardens, cocktails on the porch, and all the surrounding delights of why people call Maine "Vacationland," including hiking, kayaking, and lake and ocean swimming! Or book in the winter for plenty of downhill skiing, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing! We host all-inclusive intimate retreats, feeding and accommodating up to seven people, and we can host groups of up to 75 people for corporate functions or weddings (inquire below for accommodation and catering suggestions). We are located one hour from Portland, Maine, and 30 minutes from Shawnee Peak (winter skiing and summer hiking). So check your calendar and treat yourself to an all new rejuvenating experience!

THE FIRST FLOOR 

This is where we serve all the yummy food we will provide for you during your visit. It includes the kitchen, dining room, living room, half-bath, and a front and back porch. Here at Sage Acres you can sit by a fire on a chilly night, enjoy bird watching during the day, take in the star-gazing from the the upper and lower garden courtyard, and so much more.

 

THE SECOND FLOOR

Here we offer one Queen guest room and one Full guest room, along with a shared full bath and a separate half-bath for all guests. There is also a library and seating area for quiet reading and reflection.

 

THE THIRD FLOOR

This is the icing on the cake! A gorgeous and spacious private suite with breathtaking views from an open and screened-in sky porch, all for you. This third floor suite offers an A-frame Queen bedroom, an open living area that includes a Full-size and Twin-size futon, a half-bath (shower is on second floor), kitchenette with a mini-fridge, sink, and a tea/coffee maker. It’s perfect for a family, couples, or a friends vacation. For retreats and workshops, there is a projector and 86" screen, and if you’re working from the road, you can utilize one of three desks. If you like to sleep or nap outside, or want to sit with a book, we can provide chairs and cots for the sky porch. 

 

 

CAMPING

If you really like camping, we offer that, too! Tents are available if you’re traveling without them or need an extra.

 

 

EVENTS

As mentioned above, Sage Acres offers space to host a 50-75 person outdoor tented event. Take note of the aerial property photo below: the white tent located just off the right corner of the house gives you an idea of layout and setup. Inquire below for more details. 

 

 

OUTDOOR FUN

We offer:

• Three kayaks with life jackets for rent: two single kayaks and one tandem.

• Bike rentals: two mountain bikes and two beach cruisers.

• Snowshoe rentals: four pairs, all adult sizes.

• Tent rentals: if you’d like to camp, we've got you covered!
